Educated at the University of Chichester, James Willett has been writing and developing musicals since 2012. He also writes dramatic plays, short stories and novels.
His first musical, 'The Coffee Shop', was received with critical acclaim in London. He also recently participated in a panel discussion at the Chichester Festival Theatre. His pieces are noted for their unique, subversive flair that help set him apart from his peers.
With a portfolio including music for concert, film, television, and musical theatre, Michael Elderkin is a versatile composer with a style firmly rooted in strong thematic content with lush orchestrations and vivid colors.
Recently, he has orchestrated for 'Black Widow' (2020), 'Gemini Man' (2019), 'His Dark Materials' (2019), and 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' (2018).
In April of 2017, he produced a semi-staged workshop of 'Mascherato: The Musical' in partnership with the Barbican Centre. He has worked extensively as a conductor and arranger for the Empire Film Music Ensemble, also having freelanced as an arranger and copyist for numerous other ensembles.
Michael is also an accomplished bassoonist and contrabassoonist, performing internationally as an orchestral, chamber, and session musician. He frequently plays with the London Symphony Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, and London Mozart Players, among others, Michael is an active freelancer in London, where he resides.
